These studies are used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>determine the \u00a0range and safety exposure level of a chemical substances<\/li>\n<li>determine the effects a substance may have on human health and the environment<\/li>\n<li>determine treatments for overexposure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Animal and <em>in vitro<\/em>\u00a0testing<\/strong>\u00a0are commonly used by toxicologists in these studies.
