While working in a job market, employees usually weigh their status in the\u00a0company by comparing the salaries in peers or superiors. They are easily dissatisfied if the reference object receives a\u00a0higher salary and shows unimpressive performance.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colourbox.com\/preview\/2022622-financial-concept-balance-between-coins-and-paper-money.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-67 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/corachen\/files\/2017\/01\/2022622-financial-concept-balance-between-coins-and-paper-money-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/corachen\/files\/2017\/01\/2022622-financial-concept-balance-between-coins-and-paper-money-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/corachen\/files\/2017\/01\/2022622-financial-concept-balance-between-coins-and-paper-money-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/corachen\/files\/2017\/01\/2022622-financial-concept-balance-between-coins-and-paper-money-552x366.jpg 552w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/corachen\/files\/2017\/01\/2022622-financial-concept-balance-between-coins-and-paper-money.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While finding theories that link to motivation, Equity Theory shows that employees compare themselves with another group of individuals inside the employee\u2019s organization. Feeling unequal might induce the employees to work with less effort. During my work in MUJI, my task includes introducing products and arranging goods. I feel extremely unfair because the head of the\u00a0internship only regulates our work and earns a\u00a0higher salary. After learning organizational behavior, my situation can be explained by Maslow\u2019s Hierarchy of Needs which salary and rewards are concerned as a\u00a0basic need. I\u2019m still on the stage of immature thinking. Without satisfying the fundamental need, one can never reach the upper level which satisfies someone internally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employees pay too much attention to the substantive performance of executives while ignoring the impact of executives to workers. Directors\u2019 leadership, spirit, working mode influence employees intangibly. In order to alleviate the gap between executives and employees, I believe that the company can identify what the executive can bring to the organization. If he\/she does worth high payment, then the company can explain it to employees by emphasizing the importance of the executive\u2019s spirit and leadership. Using extrinsic motivators like reward can stimulate workers to eliminate the feeling of injustice and meanwhile work hard.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bicycling.com\/culture\/motivation\/the-hierarchy-of-cyclists-needs\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-68 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/corachen\/files\/2017\/01\/maslow-300x191.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"414\" height=\"268\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I found it interesting to use organizational behavior\u2019s theories to explain things.
