Assessment OF Learning

For assessment of learning, working in concert with my teaching philosophy, I used various methods that subscribed to a more personalized and differentiated approach. In one particular case I allowed students complete freedom in how they wished to demonstrate their learning. For that project I simply provided them with a rubric and let them know they needed to cover the standards and criteria. Before beginning the project, they needed to tell me how they wished to present their assignment, and upon approval from me they were able to begin. In other instances I gave them multiple options in how they wanted to present their assignments.

 

Formal testing was seldom. However I did use written tests, with a combination of short answer, term matching and multiple choice as an assessment of learning strategy. I also had students do individual and group presentations.
