They could be confused with early instars of Chironominae spp. [long tubercles] – Polypedilum sp. A or Chironomus sp. A in previous name system – to the naked eye. Unlike Chironominae spp. [long tubercles], markings are evident in preservation, though color differences might not be evident when alive.
 
Only one 2 mm individual was sequenced, and two were recorded. 
 
Habitat: Aquatic
