It is the most abundant Tanypodinae species in Pitilla. Its head has the shape of a rectangular prism with rounded edges. The proportion of the head with respect to the body length is variable. It doesn’t have protruding mandibles. Anterior parapods “/ \” -shaped when seen from above. Antennae and parapods are protractile. In life, the body color is variable between orange, and grey- to green-cream.
