Anopheles neivai is a common species of bromeliads in Pitilla. The coloration of the body and head is variable, as well as the width of the collar. One to four species are recovered with different methods of molecular species delimitation, without an evident morphological pattern – eight individuals were sequenced. In GenBank and BOLD databases, the barcoding region of all samples matches with Anopheles neivai sequences.
