Culex rejector is a common species of bromeliads in Pitilla. The proportional length and width of the head and proportional length of the siphon with respect to the body are variable among instars. One to two species are recovered with different methods of molecular species delimitation, without an evident morphological pattern – five individuals were sequenced. In GenBank and BOLD databases, the barcoding region of all samples matches with Culex rejector sequences.
