This is a predatory species at its larval stage and the most common among dolichopodid species. It has distinct ventral creeping welts, and its last abdominal segment has four triangular lobes. The two ventral ones are slightly longer than the dorsal ones, both with small setae at the tip (only visible with a microscope and good light). One species was found with molecular delimitation methods – four individuals were sequenced.
