The idea of an immersive education system, hands on learning, understanding why things are and where they come from is so important in getting buy-in from the learners.   I love this next video for a number of different reasons.  Eddy Robinson gives us the reasons behind why he is teaching us, he gives us stories to engage the learners.  I also love this video because of the way the learners start off hesitant but through his story and  the indigenous stories he tells, the learners are so engrossed and you can tell that there is a shift in perspective and understanding of what it means to be a leader and an ally.

  1. Thank you for this post Sundeep! I like how you said that “understanding why things are and where they come from is so important in getting buy-in from learners.” I 100% agree and think that Eddy Robinson does a great job of engaging the learners and I am sure he had a meaningful impact on many of the learners in the crowd with his storytelling ability. Many of peoples preconceived notions and beliefs in stereotypes of other cultures can be dismissed if people take the time to learn about why things are the way they are and learn a little about the journey that some people have been on. And by taking the time to learn, they can then become a leader, like the crane, and carry others on your back and become a true ally.
