This included multiple components.<\/p>\n<p>On the newly created\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/806306172814088\/\" target=\"_blank\">North American Dostoevsky Society discussion group<\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>we hosted an <strong>online group read<\/strong> of the novel throughout\u00a0<strong>July<\/strong>. Starting July 1, we began\u00a0posting discussion questions and moderating a worldwide discussion of\u00a0<em>Crime and Punishment<\/em> across our social media, using the discussion group as a locus.<\/p>\n<p>Launching\u00a0<strong>July 7<\/strong>, we began tweeting\u00a0the Oliver Ready translation of the no<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-33 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cp150\/files\/2016\/07\/730steps-300x74.png\" alt=\"730steps\" width=\"300\" height=\"74\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cp150\/files\/2016\/07\/730steps-300x74.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cp150\/files\/2016\/07\/730steps.png 593w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>vel (used with permission of Penguin Books US) on the account <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/rodiontweets\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>@RodionTweets<\/strong><\/a>. The project\u00a0is a collective effort organized by Brian Armstrong\u00a0and\u00a0Katherine Bowers, in collaboration with Kate Holland, Sarah Hudspith, Jennifer Wilson, and Sarah Young, with significant support from Kristina McGuirk. Tweets will continue until spring 2018, when the epilogue finishes.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>August\u00a0<\/strong>we organized\u00a0a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cp150\/digital-outreach\/virtual-film-fest\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>virtual C&amp;P<\/strong><strong>\u00a0film adaptation\u00a0festival<\/strong><\/a>. We invited the public to\u00a0view three adaptations at home, and discuss them live on Twitter or after the fact on FB with other Dostoevsky fans. You can see our discussions on the\u00a0Twitter hashtag <strong>#cp150filmfest<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>Throughout\u00a0<strong>July, August, and September<\/strong>,\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/bloggerskaramazov.com\" target=\"_blank\">The Bloggers Karamazov<\/a><\/em>\u00a0hosted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cp150\/digital-outreach\/cp150-blog-posts\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>a series of blog posts<\/strong><\/a> from the @RodionTweets team and from prominent Dostoevsky specialists about different aspects of the novel.<\/p>\n<p>Our aim was to get people reading, thinking about, and discussing\u00a0<strong>Dostoevsky&#8217;s novel<\/strong>!
