With more than 20 years of professional experience, he analyzes the massive amounts of attack data gathered by SophosLabs to distill and share relevant information in an effort to improve the industry\u2019s understanding of evolving threats, attacker behaviors and effective security defenses. He\u2019s\u202fhelped organizations design enterprise-scale defense strategies, served as the primary technical lead on architecting Sophos\u2019 first email security appliance, and consulted on security planning with some of the largest global brands. He\u2019s widely recognized as one of the industry\u2019s top security researchers and is regularly consulted by press, appearing on BBC News, ABC, NBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, CBC, NPR, and more. His research interests span from applied security and privacy to machine learning. He graduated from UBC (2018) with Ph.D. where he worked with Professor Beznosov on the problem of data security in smartphones. He also holds a Ph.D degree from Ufa State Aviation Technical University in the field of Machine Learning and Fault Tolerant Control System. During his recent internships at Google Cloud Security Team he contributed to EXT4 file system and Linux Kernel fuzzer Trinity. He has published more than 10 research papers in Security and ML domains and holds 3 patents. In 2018 a startup where he led development on the ML and implementing security controls was acquired by Workday where Ildar has worked since then. Currently, Dr. Muslukhov is a Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager and leads a versatile team of Software Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientist that delivers ML capabilities to the fastest growing application area in Workday\u2019s history. Apart from being a geek, he loves spending time with the family, skiing, biking, hiking and reading.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"vertical-align: top; width: 19.84%;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-1614\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/cpen442\/files\/2024\/03\/kosta-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Konstantin Beznosov<\/strong>,<br \/>\nProfessor, ECE UBC<\/td>\n<td style=\"vertical-align: top; width: 80%;\"><strong>Konstantin (Kosta) Beznosov<\/strong> is a Professor at the\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/www.ece.ubc.ca\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ece.ubc.ca\/\">Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ubc.ca\/\">University of British Columbia<\/a>, where he directs the\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/lersse.ece.ubc.ca\/\" href=\"http:\/\/lersse.ece.ubc.ca\/\">Laboratory for Education and Research in Secure Systems Engineering<\/a>. His research interests are usable privacy and security, and systems security. Prior UBC, he was a Security Architect at <a title=\"http:\/\/www.hitachiomd.com\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hitachiomd.com\/\">Hitachi Computer Products (America)<\/a>\u00a0and Concept Five. Besides\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/lersse-dl.ece.ubc.ca\/search?rg=500&amp;amp;f=author&amp;amp;p=beznosov&amp;amp;sc=1\" href=\"http:\/\/lersse-dl.ece.ubc.ca\/search?rg=500&amp;amp;f=author&amp;amp;p=beznosov&amp;amp;sc=1\">many academic papers<\/a>.
