Logistics
When: The course sessions will be held on Mondays 2 PM – 5 PM. See the course calendar for specific dates of the classes.
The first class will be at 2 PM on September 10, 2018.
Where: “DFP room”, i.e., room 2300 in Forestry building (2424 Main Mall).
Announcements: All non-urgent announcements for the course are made in the class. Urgent announcements are sent to the e-mail addresses that the students provided to the UBC registration system.

Learning Objectives
On the completion of this course, students are expected to be able to:
- Orient themselves in the area of usable privacy and security (UPS),
- Analyze and critique UPS research,
- Reason about design of communication, computer, electronics, and information systems in the context of UPS,
- Write research papers on the subject of UPS,
- Present their work and comment on others’ work to peers.
