{"id":3,"date":"2010-01-10T15:07:13","date_gmt":"2010-01-10T23:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/critoetec565a\/?page_id=3"},"modified":"2010-01-18T03:03:11","modified_gmt":"2010-01-18T11:03:11","slug":"flight-path","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/critoetec565a\/flight-path\/","title":{"rendered":"Flight Path"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ETEC 565 is my final course towards my MET degree. \u00a0I think it is a good choice in that it will allow me to both shake the dust off many of the Educational Technology tools I have picked up along my journey in this program and potentially integrate them into a practical learning experience for myself and for my current and future students. \u00a0My destination, at this point, is to a place of further development and elevation of my skill set and comfort level in \u2018designing and developing digital-age learning experiences and assessments \u2018 which, through ETEC 565, will take me to-<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moodle<\/strong>:\u00a0 Where I will exploit more of the many the tools (<a title=\"activities\" href=\"http:\/\/docs.moodle.org\/en\/Learning_Activities_Overview\">Activities <\/a>and <a title=\"resources\" href=\"http:\/\/docs.moodle.org\/en\/Resources\">Resources<\/a>) in this LMS to further enhance my students\u2019 learning experiences.\u00a0 As it stands, I currently use the basics \u2013 Resources: text pages; Activities: discussion forums &amp; assignments.<br \/>\n<strong>Social Software<\/strong>: Where I will expand my knowledge and understanding of this concept as a whole and how some of <a title=\"these tools\" href=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/janehart\/top-100-tools-for-learning-2009-2509241?src=embed\">these tools<\/a> might be used in education. As more of a dabbler then a user, I have a sense of the popularity and power of these tools (WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, delicious, flikr) but am unsure as to how to harness this in an educational setting.<br \/>\n<strong>Community &amp; collaboration<\/strong>: Where I will explore these the many tools available and learn how I might be able to incorporate them into my teaching.
