Today I had a TOC for the day and it went really well. I was able to teach more along side her as I was familiar with the classroom schedule. Today we finished my art piece from my read aloud lesson on the Mixed Up Chameleon. I think the activity went extremely well and it really touched on so many different learning strategies as well as developmental stages. One thing that I noticed was that the students that normally excel in the academics really struggled with this activity.
It is wonderful that you are feeling comfortable enough to work alongside the TTOC who came in today. It is interesting that you noticed some of the students who might normally not struggle in academics have some difficulty with the art activity. Why do you think this might have been the case for them?
I think because the activity was so open, even though there was guidelines, they had trouble. I think they may not be used to the freedom of thinking out of the box and for themselves.
