Today I was starting to plan my field trip that I was given award money for. Even though I have already done an outline of the field trip, used to apply for the award, there is so much to figure out. This is my first field trip to plan so there is a lot that I need to learn. I was feeling a little overwhelmed about booking the field trip before this morning but after sitting down and figuring it out more I am feeling a little less stressed and more confident in the planning process. I have filled out the form for the school board and got it signed by the principal. I have also created a day plan and inquired about all the costs and times of my activities. My next step now is to call and book the bus and then to book the activities. I then have to create the letter to send home with parents. I feel so privileged to be able to take my students on this field trip and I am excited to see how much they enjoy it and learn.
This planning process is a big learning curve but so worthwhile for your students!! It is great that you applied for and received the grant as well as being given the opportunity by your SA to completely take on the before, during and after planning!
