I think that the inquiry projects were a great resource of me as a teacher. I learnt so much from all of them but five things that stood out the most for me were:
- When creating math problems, especially word problems, make the problems relate to the students current knowledge and interests.
- Kids learn and speak in over 100 different ‘languages’ and as a teacher it is important to learn and listen to any of those different languages
- I was happy to learn more about Restorative Action in the schools and that it is spreading through out the Langley school district.
- To help children with anxiety have them help you prepare the night before for the next school day.
- To help children cope with anxiety remember to keep a relaxed face and tone so they don’t see you frustration
