{"id":227,"date":"2010-11-12T23:38:30","date_gmt":"2010-11-13T07:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/dbrer\/?p=227"},"modified":"2010-11-12T23:38:30","modified_gmt":"2010-11-13T07:38:30","slug":"connections-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/dbrer\/2010\/11\/12\/connections-part-two\/","title":{"rendered":"Connections, part two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I continue to work on the Pulse\/AMS project for the d-studio (486J) I&#8217;ve noticed a number of other marketing connections.<\/p>\n<p>Our idea is basically an interface that informs you of the energy consequences of the food-related decisions you make in the Student Union Building (altering the <em>shopping experience<\/em>). Clearly anyone can use it right away, but what <em>segment<\/em> should we <em>target<\/em> as we introduce it?<\/p>\n<p>As we are introducing something new, we need to first focus on the <em>innovators:<\/em> the sustainability-minded individuals that frequent the Student Union Building. Perhaps the same type of people who frequent Sprouts.<\/p>\n<p>In order to accelerate diffusion to the <em>early adopters <\/em>and the <em>majority<\/em>, we need to ensure that the system we design is <em>compatible, visible, easy to use, <\/em>and provides some sort of <em>advantage<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Going forward<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Survey\/focus group people in Sprouts in order to get feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Go through our proposal so far in order to ensure it meets as many of the <em>diffusion<\/em> requirements as we can.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I continue to work on the Pulse\/AMS project for the d-studio (486J) I&#8217;ve noticed a number of other marketing connections.
