Why do you think freedom is important for gifted learners?

I thought it would be a great idea to offer everybody the freedom to post their ideas on this blog.  Setting goals can improve learning so let’s try to think of 10 reasons why gifted learners need freedom in the classroom!

1:  Freedom helps students create their own learning opportunities, rather than merely jumping through hoops.

2:  Freedom provides opportunities for students to think outside of the box.

3:  Freedom encourages students to be themselves.

Who can think of number 4?

Professional Goal:  To create a journal to cement important learning from my teaching.

Goal for Students:  To be given frequent opportunities to cement their learning through writing at the end of lessons.

Question:  How important is not being afraid to share ideas to gifted students?
