Tooning Educational Technology (10%)— Educational technology is a serious subject and not ironic or something to laugh at; – ) However, in this assignment we encourage you to step out of character, out of the shell, and out of the box to make a satire, bit of irony, or fun of ET, ETnophilia, ETnophobia, and ETers. Actually, cartooning and spoofing have always been a tradition or foundation of ET. For example, the Educational Technology Magazine ran a longstanding series of comics and collated these in The Educational Technology Cartoon Book. The Joy of Tech celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and last year The Simpsons finally got around to lampooning graduate students in 2009! Applications such as Comic Life and Toonlet make tooning ET not only possible but expected and essential. Hence, there is no better time to draw out or senses of humour for ET.
Design a comic strip that ironizes, satirizes, or pokes fun at ET, ETnophilia, ETnophobia, ETnocracy, or ETers. Format: one page (input into the Media Library and submit note indicating completion to the Assignment Dropbox).
