About this site

Standard

This site, Deep Learning Mobile Technologies in the Literacy Classroom, has been created for the project Enhancing Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century Literacy Classroom: Preparing Faculty and Teacher Candidates for Mobile Technologies. The project is coordinated by Dr. Marianne McTavish and Margot Filipenko to support instructors in integrating digital technologies in their literacy teaching,

Developed and collected tutorials and instructions are housed on this site to support the use of learning technologies by elementary/middle school teacher candidates to enhance or modify learning experiences for classrooms, particularly (but not exclusively) in the language arts classroom of LLED 350/351.

With a focus of supporting digital presentation for the assignments in LLED 350/351, we introduced a series of digital tools including Viva Video, Video Scribe, Stop Motion Studio, Haiku Deck, Piktochart, Prezi and more. Step-by-step instructional tutorial are provided for some applications/tools.
