Although as of current most of my time is dedicated to school and work, I try my best to dedicate my free time to gaining new experiences. I usually do this by Exploring the city, going on hikes, creating new fitness goals and engaging in cultural experiences.

Vancouver is a new city to me. Since I have moved here I have tried to see as much of the city as I can but still have yet to explore many of its interesting places. However I have managed to enjoy the views at Stanley Park, hike Grousse mountain, and go to fright night at the PNE. I have also incorporated exploring Vancouver into my academic life by going downtown to ask strangers about my “Big Idea” project which is Indigenous dance rituals. I also did the same for my Gender, Race, Sex and Power class to prove that there is a public interest in finding a permanent space for the Queer Arts Festival.

I also have a great interest in reaching new potentials mentally and physically. I have forced myself to go to the gym often, go on hikes and climb the stairs at Wreck beach like my life depends on it. This has been a great challenge for me so far and I can feel the difference it has made for my body. I am always looking for new ways to enjoy a good work-out.

My friends and I also enjoy learning about different cultures. We try to engage in conversation with a diverse group of people and attend different cultural events when appropiate. An example of this is attending the family dinners at the Vancouver Austrian Society to enjoy authentic Austrian cuisine while observing traditional folk dances.
