I live for sports. Being immersed on the court or on the field is a feeling unparalleled to anything else I’ve ever experienced. When I’m in the game, I feel the most at ease, the most like myself, and ultimately the happiest. This is my one true love.

Primary sports: Volleyball (indoor, beach, grass–practically any surface) & Tennis

To be honest, any sport I can pick up, I’ll play.

Favourite athletes: Roger Federer, Kobe Bryant, Georges St Pierre, Apollo Anton Ohno, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier, Joe Sakic, Ronaldinho, David Beckham…the list goes on

2) People – There are all types of people in your life. Good ones, bad ones (but who’s judging?!), ones that enter your life, ones that exit your life, distant acquaintances, amazing friends, loving partners, mysterious strangers–it’s incredible the number of people we encounter in our lives and the number that we let slip through.

The best piece of advice I have ever received was from my mentor and my friend whom I met at a networking conference. He told me that if I surround myself with good people, you can’t go wrong. As disheartening as it sounds, he said to drop the dead weight of people who mean you no good and to give your full attention to those who are good to you. This advice has led me to crawl out of my self-centered bubble and seek meaningful and reciprocal relationships. Life is all about the relationships you make and the best way to form these bonds is through giving. Give your time, give back to the community, give your love, and find people who do the same.

3) Marketing – Why do I care about marketing? Because it’s all about relationships. Marketing is everywhere. It’s in the words I say, the brands you wear, the objects we interact with everyday–everywhere. It touches all the surfaces of our lives and it’s all about communicating a message.

Favourite brands: Nike & Adidas

There are three things that I define myself with: 1) Sports – I can safely say that sports has taken up a quarter of my entire lifetime from the age of 1 to 21.
