About Me

Hi! I’m Tonya and I am a UBC student studying Animal Biology. I made this website as part of the Land and Food Systems course, Applied Biology 315 – Animal Welfare and the Ethics of Animal Use. I have a passion for biology, nature, and all animals. After several years of performing animal dissections in both high school and university with the opinion that they are unnecessary and against my ethical standards, I wanted to research more about the welfare, alternatives, and regulations regarding dissections in education. This is the result of that research. So, please take a look at some of my pages and feel free to leave comments on your opinions concerning dissection in education! Happy Surfing!
