Activities for the Week
Our Group welcomes you to our Presentation of Ecology of Educational Technology. We have provided summaries and links to this weeks readings. In Resources there are additional readings and several videos on another aspect of Ecology of Technology – what happens to all the electronic garbage? There is an excellent Ecosystem Simulation Activity that gives a real sense of how closely everything is related in the biosphere. The question is how do we understand these issues as applied to Educational Technology?
There are focus questions on the Vista site and near the end of the week we invite everyone to participate in building our Interactive Concept Map. It is easy to use and will help us, as a group, visualize all the important relationships we see between all the components in the Ecology of Technology – computers, students, buildings, garbage, invasive species, keystone species, and of course you as teacher and educator!! There are some terms to guide your thinking – but it is wide open!
