My Learning Metaphor
My July 22, 2013

Mapping my learning journey is a bit like mapping London’s Tube. The map is not linear or chronological. It maps out relationships between activities and events. It maps out the flow of learning with direct and indirect routes. Much of the learning, and certainly the process of reflection, is unseen. Movement, change, and learning are obvious when I observe myself at major stations. What isn’t always so obvious is the route I took to get there.

Click on the map to see it full-sized.

You can navigate through my learning journey using this map and the menu bar at the top of this page. The menu bar lists the lines of learning included on the map.

They are: Classroom, District, MET, Ministry, mPortfolios, PD, School

The main page of each line describes its content and lists the stops along the way. Some of these stations are included in more than one line. The links on each line’s main page or on its drop down menu will take you where you want to go.

Dotted lines and stations indicate future routes, activities, and learning.

I have more work to improve the content and navigation of this site but I am content with the work so far. I have two years before graduation and plenty of time to prepare this blog for my capstone project in ETEC590.

  1. Don,
This map is brilliant. The way that you’ve connected the different paths that you’ve taken is really fascinating. I arrived here by way of mportfolios.org. I”ll drop you a line there this term.
