Edit-a-thon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five years leading and running the Vancouver chapter of the Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, (2015-2019) the event has created over 140 new article pages for female artists and cultural contributors, with a focus on British Columbia and Vancouver, and many articles were created of current UBC faculty, administrators (curators) and alumni.\u00a0 Course assignments have been aligned with the event here at UBC and Emily Carr.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Year 1 (2015):<\/strong> Held over two days at UBC\u2019s Buchanan Labs. <strong>43 new articles<\/strong> created plus one Commons (image to the online commons media library) uploaded.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Year 2 (2016):<\/strong> One-day event held at Western Front Society Grand Luxe Hall. <strong>18 new articles created<\/strong> and four improved.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Year 3 (2017):<\/strong> Two-day event, with the first day at UBC\u2019s Belkin Art Gallery and the second at the Western Front Society Grand Luxe Hall. <strong>35 new articles created<\/strong>, 72 edited, plus six Commons uploads.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Year 4 (2018):<\/strong> Two-day event, as with Year 3, held at UBC\u2019s Belkin Art Gallery and at the Western Front Society Grand Luxe Hall. <strong>28 new articles created<\/strong>, 57 edited, plus four Commons uploads.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Year 5 (2019):<\/strong> One-day event, held at UBC&#8217;s Belkin Art Gallery.\u00a0<strong> 20 new articles created<\/strong>, 93 edited *this year&#8217;s event incorporated a Wikipedia article assignment requirement from my class, VISA 311:\u00a0 Intermediate
