It is one of my priorities as a teacher to embrace constructive possibilities of engaging students on new levels by opening learning opportunities to an international lens and expanded global world perspective (Douglas and Jones-Rikkers 56), improving cultural competence with increased intercultural awareness and sensitivity (Williams).<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, I arranged and facilitated a one week \u201cclass trip\u201d with 25 VISA and Art History Undergraduate students to New York City. The trip included visits to major art contemporary and historical galleries including the DIA ART, International Center of Photography, Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum, New Museum, The Whitney Museum, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and The Frick Collection.<\/p>\n<p>Together with my colleague Associate Professor Marina Roy, in the summers of 2013 and 2015 we led two learning abroad courses in conjunction with the Venice Biennale, a large International Art Exhibition.
