Revised version of ” The Stranger” – A potential to erase loneliness
The second version of “The Stranger” is updated here.
This version has less images, but has English subtitle and reference information. It seems I used a music piece that copyright attached to it. As long as I do not earn money from this video and mentioned about the credibility of the music, it seems OK to use it. Making a video is not only thinking about creativity, but also the law…
My first film (in progress) about loneliness & stranger
Who thought I would make a film/video by myself?
Here it is! I have one month to finalize this piece. So, I appreciate your feedback!

Writing a script itself took a long time. Selecting images/videos also took a looong time. Editing takes forever!
I still need to work on this piece. Making this film is clearing my thoughts about loneliness. It is not easy to put together my own experiences and findings through interviews and articles about loneliness. I believe loneliness is complicated. Therefore, I could not (still cannot) focus on one part of loneliness. However, sending a message to audience effectively in the short time with film has a limitation to express everything. It is similar to writing an essay but making a film is not only word, but also visual and sound. It is interesting for me to realize how powerful visual and sound affect people’s emotion.
I choose to share my own experiences because qualitative and narrative method can deliver my findings to audiences effectively. My story is authentic and it makes people engage in the topic more (hopefully). The goal of this art-based education is awareness of loneliness in public as well as promotion to do some actions in communities.
My filmmaking & loneliness & the stranger journey to be continued.. Love you all❤️
Escaping from the reality helps not feeling lonely
My post-stranger – Female Chinese Canadian in her 30’s
Consumerism/society expectation and loneliness
Today I interviewed my post-stranger friend, an Iranian-Canadian in her 30’s. She is an environmental educator and involving volunteers and public events related environmental issues. I am especially interested in the relationship between loneliness and environmental educators. She called the spider at her entrance who residents there for a while, “sweetie!”

Talking to strangers makes you happy – Scientific American
“People who had to strike up conversations on a subway later reported feeling happier than those who didn’t. Christie Nicholson reports.”
