My name is Wesley Ashwood. I am a graduate student in the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences studying Geological Engineering with a focus on natural hazards. As an avid backcountry snowboarder I am constantly checking the weather and avalanche forecast for various regions throughout BC and my home in Colorado. As a final project for GEOB 370 – Advanced Issues in GIScience I thought it would be fun to start the development of a dynamic avalanche predictor. This is what I have so far.
