The top news on Clickz.com is that Twitter Ads will appear on Mobile App.

In the new Twitter Mobile App, it will include the Promoted Account ads. The new application is developed by a San Francisco- based company and just announced the new product. At this time, the mobile users can already view Twitter’s Promoted Products like Promoted Trends, Tweets, and Promoted Accounts. In the near future, the user experience in Twitter’s mobile application will be very much like in the computer.

This action will definitely expand the influence of social media. More companies will developed the same product. As a marketing student, I think this is a brilliant idea. We are targeting our users more efficiently and extensively. However, as a user, I may feel annoyed by so many ads. Twitter should think about it.

Selling product through social media?

In the Web Marketing Today website, there is an article about selling products through Facebook. The article discusses the possibility of selling from Facebook , what types of products can be sold through it and how to interact with Facebook’s feature.

Here is the video about it:

Instead of directing users to the website, marketers decide to move the store to Facebook.  As mentioned in the video, people just dont want to leave the Facebook site. Moreover, shopping in Facebook can creates credibility for consumers.

Regarding to the idea of shopping on facebook , I think it is brilliant. However, up to now, I didnt find any company sell online yet. The idea is good. How to implement the idea is another thing.  When people make the transaction, they definitely have to redirect to another website. Facebook is still the platform to advertise the product. All in all, how to sell product on Facebook effectively is more important than discussing. Here is a company that I heard about called VCommercePlus. com . They are working on this aspect. Let’s keep an eye on the company and cross finger for its future.

The Five Typical eMarketing Tools

When it comes to eMarketing , the “traditional” thought will be how to present in the five major platforms. Companies who can be on the top of the following tools are a sign of success in the social media. In this blog, I will briefly go through the five tools and how to use them to promote the brand or service.

Search Engine Market:

When search engine is the first tool that consumers use to search for specific product/service, the position in the list really matters. As a result, companies have to compete to be able in the top ten of the list. There are basically two ways to achieve this. One is to design the website in a way that meet the search engine “formula” or requirement. Simple tips like more internal linking with other pages, using frequently searched keywords in the website and update webpage information frequently can help.

The second way will be pay by per click. Search engine like Google has its pay by per click   marketing platform. Companies bid for the keywords and the highest bid will be in the top position of the relevant search result. However, this can possibly generate high cost for companies.

eNewsletter:

eNewsletter has been existed for a while and proven to be very useful. The members in a certain group have been considered as having the similar preference of the service. eNewsletter can target their audience with the information that they most likely preferred. On the other hand, it is easy to track the amount of audience. It also develops as a sort of bond with their customers. Moreover, this eMarketing tool is super cheap compares to others.

Affiliate Programs:

This method lays the foundation of the success of Amazon.com. Affiliation Program is when a registered member website direct consumers to another website , as long as it generates sales for the e-commerce website, the member website will get commission from it. In the end, this method generates buzz and help circulate the website information throughout the Internet. This has proven to be successful in the case of Amazon.com

Really Simple Syndication( RSS) :

This is a really cool tool to syndicate various websites, blogs into one single platform. It greatly reduces the amount of time to spend on one each website. The efficiency that RSS brings to the users , in the end, generates more attention to those sites.

Social Networks:

Social networks are the new platform to market online. The networks like Facebook, Twitter, and blogs greatly increased the interaction with consumers and the manufacturers or the providers of certain services/products. It is just so easy. It is simple two-way communication. The responses from their customers are clear. The feeling of connected improved users’ perception of the brand as well.

Besides advertising on those websites, what else that marketers can use is still a question.

As more and more emarketing players use those tools above, a good marketer needs to find ways to distinguish itself from the mass.

How to create a Viral Marketing through Social Media

All marketers want to create a viral marketing strategy. The campaign spreads throughout the website like viral or wildfire. Social media helps make it happen at a cheaper cost and more efficiently.

The first condition to create a viral marketing is the content of the marketing. It has to be very special to catch people’s attention. The content should also invite people’s interaction with them. Take the Kohl’s Cares campaign for an example, the campaign asked facebook users to vote. This creates interaction and motivates them to share the event information.

There are some tips which are helpful in creating a viral marketing strategy.

The marketing strategy should closely relate to people ‘s emotion. It could be the content of the marketing , and also the wording of it. When viewers feel close and familiar with it, it is very likely that they want to be part of it and actively engage in the marketing process. Pictures or videos are getting more and more popular in promoting. Viewers prefer to absorb simple and easy information.  Another tactic that can help is to give away prizes for spreading the campaign. The Future Shop used this way recently ,arguing that anyone who shares their page and with the “Thank you” on the face, people can get $100 Future Shop Gift card. The campaign successfully enticed me to share the information, even though no one gets the gift.

Viral Marketing can be very effective and cost very few.  Cheating is also very likely to come along. Companies should carefully manage the marketing process to make sure it operates within a certain boundary.
