Child Poverty in Richmond…
Hi all,
I thought I’d post the Vancouver Sun article I referenced yesterday in class. A couple surprising quotes:
“Richmond has the second highest poverty rate in Canada at 22 per cent”
“British Columbia continues to have the highest rate of child and family poverty in Canada.”
Yikes.
Roots & Shoots
This is Dr. Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program which started in Tanzania and encourages young people to identify issues in their communities and take action. All about empowering kids to bring about change. Anyone can enroll their class, and even request a JGI speaker for their school so thought it might be worth a look!
