Just a few things about me:

dental hygiene4

My name is Editha Tomaszewski. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I have graduated from a dental hygiene program at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, ON and have been working full-time as a clinical hygienist since then.  I have always been practicing in a periodontal field, which I find truly captivating, adding general and paediatric settings along the way for a perfect combination. I have a lot of passion for all the work I do.

This is my fourth year in the dental-hygiene-degree-completion program at the University of British Columbia. With my DH degree I may have better chances for getting into public or community-based programs/jobs and that’s one of my future goals. I would also love to teach clinical dental hygiene in the future. Opening my own dental clinic one day could also be on the agenda if the opportunity presents itself. All in all, as you can see, I am pretty much open to many different options.

For a while now, I have been thinking of Teaching English as a Second Language and I plan to apply for a program that will prepare me to do that. You will find more information on that later in this Web Folio.

Sometime ago, I found that working in the garden has its own benefits as it helps to relax and decompress, and I like it very much. In my free time I enjoy hiking, biking and photography. Taking pictures is a lot of fun especially when looking back at them you can still have the same feelings as at the moment of taking them. This is how I feel about the photo of Grand Canyon I had taken two years ago while trekking down to the Colorado River.
