What is an Educational Leadership Faculty member at UBC?
At UBC, faculty can be hired in the tenure track in one of two streams. In the Educational Leadership track, tenure is primarily dependent on demonstrating excellence in teaching. Educational Leadership (i.e., contributions beyond one’s course at levels of the department, faculty, institution, or beyond) and service are also important. Once tenure is awarded, Assistant Professors of Teaching are promoted with the title of Associate Professors of Teaching. Demonstrating sustained and outstanding teaching and educational leadership lead to promotion to the rank of Professor of Teaching.

We update our email list annually, in between that, we may not have added new faculty in the educational leadership stream at UBC. To get added to our lost you can email one of our members dealing with either the chairs or communications. You can find the list of our members on our leadership team on the about page.

I guess this ‘About’ page can now be edited to give our upgraded titles: Assistant Professor of Teaching, Associate Professor of Teaching, Professor of Teaching? ????
