Helloooo!
My name is Emma (she/her)! I was born in Medicine Hat Alberta, however I moved away at a very young age, and don’t remember anything! We moved to Vancouver Island – which is where I grew up, in a city called Parksville (however, it has always felt much smaller than an average city). Currently, I am living in Vancouver. I am in my second year at UBC, where I am majoring in Psychology. Some fun and random facts about me: I love music, bubble tea, and photography! I’m also a big fan of going to the beach, and late-night drives. 🙂
I decided to enroll in this class because I thought that it would be really interesting – especially since it feels quite applicable to my own background. My father was from Chile, and I have some Indigenous ancestry linked to a few areas in Latin America. However, I never really had much of a chance to learn about the Indigenous communities or that side of my family, so I’ve been finding myself more and more interested in Latin American culture. I am excited to learn about the connection between the land, the food and its history in relation to the Indigenous Communities as well.
Super excited to get to know everyone! 😀
Thanks for Reading!
Emma
