EDST Well-Being Series: Mindfulness with Mahfida – October, 2025: Tote Bag Designing Workshop

To live a happy, healthy, and successful life, it is important to de-stress everyday anxiety and focus on mental well-being. The EDST community is invited to join Mindfulness with Mahfida — a monthly series of mindfulness practices designed to nurture calm, connection, and creativity in academic life.

Each session offers a new theme, such as arts and crafts, mindful eating, meditation, breathing exercises, or gratitude journaling. The goal is to make learning enjoyable and support academic and professional growth. These mindfulness sessions help participants relax and manage daily stress, enabling them to concentrate better at work and appreciate the positive aspects of life.

October Event: Tote Bags Designing

Students were engaging in designing their own tote bags

For this month’s session, students created their own tote bags and brought them home. Every bag had its own unique design, and everyone really enjoyed the activity.

It was raining hard, yet so many students braved their way to attend the event, as they knew that the event would run rain or shine. They shared their positive experiences while enjoying the refreshments provided at the event. Each tote bag became a canvas for their expression, turning the mindfulness activity into a celebration of individuality. The photos capture moments of deep concentration and bursts of creativity as everyone brought their designs to life.

The activity also helped them connect with each other and created a welcoming social space. In the end, making a tote bag gave participants a sense of accomplishment.
