EDST Well-Being Series: Mindfulness with Mahfida – November, 2025: Diamond Art Painting Workshop # 2

For this month’s session, Mahfida continued the Diamond Art Painting Workshop from September. She invited students to bring the keychains they started last time so they could finish their glittering butterfly designs. Anyone who missed the September session could also join in and make their own sparkling butterfly keychain.

The students leaned in, focused and curious. Using small styluses, they picked up each diamond bead and placed it on the sticky surface of a butterfly-shaped keychain. As they worked, the wings slowly took shape in soft shades of blue, pink, gold, and other colors, just like in the pictures below.

The steady rhythm of the activity felt calming: pick, place, press, repeat. Around the room, people chatted softly, sharing color choices or admiring each other’s work. Some focused quietly on the details, while others laughed when a bead slipped out of place and patiently nudged it back.

As the workshop continued, the simple outlines turned into colorful, sparkling butterflies. When it was over, the finished keychains caught the light, each one unique and showing a bit of its maker’s personality. In the end, everyone left with more than just a handmade accessory. Each person held a small piece of art, bright and delicate, and felt the quiet satisfaction that comes from making something with care.
