This website is to document my journey through the Master of Educational Technology (MET) program through the University of British Columbia (UBC). I started the program in January of 2023 and I am hoping to complete the program in 2026.
My goal is to learn more about how educational technology can transform teaching practices and become an instructional designer to create interactive educational experiences that enhance learning. I have particular interest in how EdTech can bridge the gap with social and emotional learning skills for children, parents, and educators.

WHAT IS EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY?
Technology is a tool that can be very powerful. It can especially be powerful when used for educational purposes. It can be used to enhance and transform learning and make it more engaging for the learning experience. Educational technology is the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for educational purposes. Examples could be e-learning platforms, online collaboration tools, cloud-based learning software, apps, blogs, or discussion boards, virtual reality, augmented reality, personalized learning, online assessments, digital whiteboards, and other interactive online tools either for students and/or teachers.
Technology can be used to create engaging, flexible, and effective learning experiences for students. Of course, technology will never be a replacement for effective teaching practices! Educational theory and practice combined with various technologies can help make learning more enjoyable and memorable.
