Wellbeing Tip of the Month | June 2024 | Mindfulness: Mountain Meditation

The final mindfulness practice we’ll be focusing on for the year is called Mountain Meditation.  It is a guided meditation practice that encourages us to connect with our inner strength and stability, even when faced with stressful and challenging circumstances.  The Mountain Meditation was originally developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, an American Professor of Medicine who is renowned for founding the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program.  There are multiple iterations of this mindfulness meditation practice, ranging anywhere in duration from 2 minutes to 20 minutes.

As you weather another transitional time in your BEd program this month, I invite you to try the Mountain Meditation and imagine yourself as a majestic mountain – solid, grounded, still.
