Offsetters is based in Vancouver AND completely relevant to the course (you&#8217;ll see why). Two birds with one stone!!<\/p>\n<p><\/em><br \/>\nOffsetters is one of the companies that our class will be working with to develop a marketing plan; I believe Offsetters is looking for a stronger online presence and some social media consultancy from whichever group it will be working with. (I&#8217;m personally interested in working with CityStudio, my dad is a contractor and the entire project sounds really cool!)<\/p>\n<p>I recognized the Offsetters logo but quickly realized that it was probably because James Tansey, the CEO and Co-Founder of Offsetters, is also the Executive Director at ISIS, and a guest speaker from one of my Comm 101 lectures back in first year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.offsetters.ca\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nancywudesign.com\/portfolio\/Offsetters01Logo.jpg\" width=\"377\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t know much about the organization, and somehow stumbled upon this while I was doing a quick search on &#8220;Offsetters marketing&#8221;:<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.allbusiness.com\/wild-crazy-marketing-ideas\/15677076-7.html?utm_source=outbrain&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=slideshow#axzz2LuiGC9lQ\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-563\" alt=\"Crazy Marketing Ideas\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/elizabethcheong\/files\/2013\/02\/Screen-shot-2013-02-25-at-5.01.07-AM.png\" width=\"626\" height=\"487\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/elizabethcheong\/files\/2013\/02\/Screen-shot-2013-02-25-at-5.01.07-AM.png 626w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/elizabethcheong\/files\/2013\/02\/Screen-shot-2013-02-25-at-5.01.07-AM-300x233.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 626px) 100vw, 626px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since the core competencies of Offsetters is sustainability-driven &#8211; offering a service that helps people, organizations, and corporations to &#8220;offset&#8221; their carbon footprint &#8211; this marketing campaign accomplishes both goals of marketing in the traditional sense of promoting a business&#8217; services, and campaigning for a sustainable and eco-driven cause.
