Indigenous Literature Zine Coverpage. By Emma Metcalfe Hurst, Mandy Choie, Charlotte Leonard, and Natalie Hawryshkewich.<\/p><\/div>\n

Collaborative zine made by Emma Metcalfe Hurst, Mandy Choie, Charlotte Leonard, and Natalie Hawryshkewich, with contributions from ARST 585: Information Practice and Protocol in Support of Indigenous Initiatives<\/em> peers.<\/p>\n

The zine features selections of Indigenous literatures (including poetry, memoir, graphic novel, and children’s literature) shared by students over a Canvas classroom discussion thread throughout a semester of remote learning due to COVID-19. As a group, we sought out permissions from each contributor to publish these recommendations, applying protocols and methodologies of consent and collaboration discussed in class. Furthermore, we saw the zine as an easy-to-make and distributable format that could function not only as an educational resource, but also as a document and a gift to our peers for generously sharing their knowledge.<\/p>\n
