Subject: Linkedin Best Practices for Professional Networking
As requested by the course assignment 2:2, I have researched the best practices on the creation of the Linkedin Profile page. I group these ten points, which I think to be the most useful，into two aspects of content and formatting and list them below.
Content
Summary: Put your career choices in context, highlight the most significant achievements, and turn it into your own story(Reilly 2019).
Working Experiences:
- Add a description by listing the technologies used and vendors experienced(Goodman).
- Bullet points your achievement under past jobs and experiences (Clark).
- Quantify your achievements and mention numbers(Kennedy 2015).
Keywords: Put relevant keywords in the “Summary” and “Experience” section to do search engine optimization and increase the visibility from recruiters(Urban 2018).
URL: Personalize your URL to make it professional and get better keyword recognition(Goodman).
Recommendations: Add recommendations from great colleagues, bosses with knockout lines to grab audiences’ attention(Larssen).
Formatting
Avoid large blocks: Trim paragraphs to make it extracted, itemize your key information, and uses the headlines to show emphasis(Bradford 2019).
Put the Relevant on top: Place the most relevant credentials on the top to draw recruiters’ attention(Bradford 2019).
Profile Image: Make sure the image looks professional and friendly(Clark), and choose a recent picture and make up your face around 60%(Fleming 2020).
Background Image: Grabs a background image to set the context and show what matters to you and who you are(Liu 2019).
Links as Proofs: Upload or link to demonstrations of your expertise to give proof of your skills and knowledge( Smith-Proulx).
Having a professional LinkedIn profile page helps build up the trust with recruiters, following the useful points above to build a professional profile page to bring us credibility by.
