Hello Pencil Pack Team! I have read over a few articles found on the web about how to conduct myself while ‘networking’ on Linkedin. With the advice from a few different sites (please see cites listed) I have summarized a list of best practices for using Linkedin as a professional networking site:

1. Do not accept or invite people to ‘connect’ if you don’t know them
2. Customize your connect invitation to make it unique
3. Do not invite people to ‘connect’ more than two times
4. Use a professional photo for your profile picture
5. Don’t give too many endorsements, and when you do be specific and meaningful
6. Try to post daily- statuses, likes, links and connecting
7. Always be polite and courteous; use thank you and please often
8. Have an engaging headline
9. Respond in good time to connection requests and e-mails
10. Do not connect with a hiring manager before a job interview

With following these ten best practices when networking on Linkedin, I think we should all have a positive experience while using this platform.

Please let me know if you have any questions on this, thanks!
