As requested on the ENGL301 99A course website, I am providing you, my writing team, with a summary of my research findings. The following is a list of top 10 best practices for using LinkedIn as a professional writing site:

  1. Completing your LinkedIn profile and provide important details, credentials, and experiences. (Guru)
  2. Including details in your profile that would appeal to your target industry or dream job. (Guru)
  3. Using keywords in your profile to stand out to recruiters and professionals. (Borden)
  4. Adding people you know to your network. (Prasad)
  5. Regularly reviewing LinkedIn’s “people you may know”, and add those who may add value to your network. (Arruda)
  6. Expanding your network by asking your connections to introduce you to others. (Prasad)
  7. Do not be afraid to request to connect with professional you have not met. When doing so, provide a personalized introduction. (Borden)
  8. Maintaining relationships and interact with your existing contacts. (Prasad)
  9. Actively share engaging content about your experiences, ideas and content from other sites. (Arruda)
  10. Joining LinkedIn groups that you are interested in or who contain your target audience and actively participate. (Guru)

Overall, the key to the power of networking in LinkedIn is actively engaging within your network and within the platform in a professional manner. The presence that you establish online through your profile, your interests and interactions can have significant impacts on the connections you make.
