Subject: Research on the Ten Best Linked-In Practices

Dear teammates,

I did some research about the best LinkedIn practices for assignment 2.2.  Please see the following suggestions, I hope these are helpful:

  • Upload a nice profile picture, it is better if you use a professional picture than just a regular selfie.
  • Upload a background photo, this photo could be your institution, your office. It is another element that shows your professionalism.
  • Give a detailed educational background. Employees may want to see the programs you were /are in, and what kind of contributions you made to the program is also relevant here.
  • Give a summary of your story, but use a less personal tone.
  • Provide a detailed list of relevant skills you have. For example, if you are applying for a tutor position, you can add that you are good at communication with the students.
  • Show the employee your work experiences, adding volunteering experiences could also make your profile more appealing.
  • Follow influencers in your field, in this way, you have joined with a community who have the same interest as you.
  • Avoid making your profile looking too complicated, keep it concise, and avoid essay formats.
  • Avoid using obscure language.
  • Spotlight what you can offer to a new job.

In conclusion, these tips will help you have a general idea of what and why employees will be interested in your profile. I hope these suggestions are helpful.
