Katherine, thank you for explaining the definition of “object recognition” in a clear, concise way. Please read below my review and suggestions that may help strengthen your next draft. 

 

First Impressions:

The document is well-written, and structured in a way that is easy for the reader to understand. It includes a figure that allows the reader to visualize and better understand the definition. Moreover, it draws information from various sources that add to the merit of writing.

Content:

• The introduction paragraph is effective by presenting to the reader what the assignment is and the objectives associated with it
• You provide three different definitions to the reader (parenthetical, sentence and expanded), which were easy to understand
• For the expanded definition, you touched on the history and went into depth for how object recognition works in a real life setting. This helped familiarize myself with the term on a deeper level.
• The visuals and examples given in the document help paint a picture to the reader, by allowing me to grasp the definition in a different way
• Four expansion strategies were used in the document
• References were present 

Organization:

• The document is broken up into sections, with headers that effectively communicate to the reader what the section will be about
• The headers do not align with the content stated beneath them
• Use of bullet points and numbered lists throughout the document allow the reader to scan the information more easily
• A conclusion paragraph would be well-suited for this document, since the document ends with examples and no closure of the material

Grammar/Word Choice:

• Word choice was consistent throughout the document, easy to grasp
• Little to no grammar mistakes, be careful of potential run-on sentences throughout the document

 

Visuals:

• Detailed visual, that allows readers to visualize the entire process of object recognition step by step

 

Works Cited:

• The references were in MLA8 format
• The required three references were present

 

Concluding Comments:

Overall, I thought the definition was well explained and interesting to read. With the small edits suggested and an additional proofread, this will be an excellent document to learn and read from:

• Correcting formatting issues with the writing under the headers
• Double check the Works Cited 
• Incorporating a conclusion at the end of the document, to wrap up the definition presented throughout the document
• Double check potential run-on sentences that may occur throughout the document
