Subject: Peer Review of Research Proposal for Formal Report
Thank you for suggesting to improve lab recruitment. This is an interesting idea! Please see my reviews below for your next writing.
Initial Impression:
The topic of the lab sounds interesting and attractive. Also this proposal seems easy to read and understand. The overall document is very well-organised, including all requirements as instructed. I am really looking forward to seeing your research!
Organisation:
- The overall proposal is very well-organised with proper contents and clear explanations.
- Every title is well bolded for getting attraction from readers.
- Statement of Problem is clear and contains reasonable reasons for research.
- Solution seems vivid and feasible, but it would be clearer if you explain what “systematic hiring process” exactly means.
Expression:
- Introduction is well formed and understandable, even to those who have no experience of the lab.
- Scope has well separated steps, but there are some redundancy of “advertise”, “traits”, and “interviews”. I would suggest reducing redundant words in fewer steps.
- Methods are clear, but adding secondary sources makes it better. Secondary sources should be a readable format written by others. Please see the text book explanation.
Grammar and Typos:
- Statement of Problem fully suggests the reason for the research, but the last sentence “This lead the coding team to be short-staffed with multiple experiments to be coded.”, that lead sounds grammatical error. If it has any intention, please ignore this.
Content:
This document is complete according to the assignment requirements; it includes:
- Introduction
- Audience Description
- Statement of Problem
- Proposed Solution
- Scope
- Methods
- My Qualifications
- Conclusions
– It has all contents the assignment requires and indication is clear.
Concluding Comments:
Your proposal sounds really interesting! I hope I could get a chance to read your research paper after it is done. The following edits would make this clearer and readable proposal:
- Further details on “systematic hiring process”.
- Reduce redundancy in Scope steps.
- Add secondary sources on Methods.
- Edit minor grammatical error.
Thank you for reading my review. Feel free to ask any questions!
Cheers.
Leo Kim
