Peer Review – Formal Report Proposal

Great job on completing this assignment and posting it before the deadline. Please see below for my review and suggestions.

First impressions:

This is a very well-organized document with an interesting topic. Topic is very relatable to many UBC students, and it grabbed my attention immediately. It includes a proper format, which makes the document easy to follow.

Organization:

  • Good introduction paragraph, it clearly stated the background information of your research topic
  • Headings are bolded, which gives a clear structure of the document.

Content:

  • All the topics from the textbook are covered and explained. These include:
    • Proposed solution
    • Scope
    • Methods
    • Qualifications
    • Conclusion

Statement of Problem:

  • Stated problem needs details, providing specifics on the issue:
    • For example, “Students have variety of opinions on the delivery of lectures, but the needs are not well-understood by the university”. What are some of these needs?

Grammar/Typos:

  • Document contains some errors with grammar and sentence structure. For example, “Therefore, I am one of the students that I am willing to take opinions”.
    • Note that “I am” is redundant in this sentence and that pronouns are recommended to be avoided.

Concluding Comments:

This proposal topic is very interesting to its potential audiences. It is also well written and organized, and it gives the audience a clear structure to follow. This can be a very successful proposal with the following suggestions and a good proofread:

  • Expanding some of the problems that are stated
  • Thorough proofread for sentence structure and grammatical errors.

Overall, very well written and hopefully you find my suggestions helpful to you. It was a treat reading your proposal and understanding your stand on the current in-person lectures. Please feel free to ask any question you may have.
