Subject: Progress Report – Formal Report on Proposal to Establish a Volunteer Dental Hygiene Clinic at Our Place Society

Thank you for your feedback on my report proposal. Please find attached my progress report regarding my formal report on the feasibility of establishing a mobile volunteer dental hygiene clinic at the Our Place Society homeless shelter in Victoria. I have detailed the audience, purpose, significance, research planning, and report writing schedule. Additionally, you will find the interview questions attached, which will provide the majority of the data required to plan this project. Client surveys in this type of scenario will not be possible, so the interview will be significant in the planning process.

Intended Audience
CEO of Our Place Society – Julian Daly
Manager of Volunteers at Our Place Society – Dawn Barr

Purpose of Report
The purpose of this report is to assess the feasibility and need for volunteer dental hygiene services at the Our Place Society shelter.

Significance of Report
The report will identify gaps in the provision of oral health care to homeless individuals and identify ways to address this gap through volunteer dental hygiene treatment in a mobile clinic setting at the shelter. The provision of zero-cost dental services on-site can help reduce some of the barriers clients face when trying to access traditional oral health services.

Research plan
Literature review of peer-reviewed sources to assess barriers to oral care for homeless individuals.
Assess local resources to provide further low-income oral care information or dentist/physician referrals to clients who access this type of mobile hygiene clinic.
Contact industry suppliers to assess the cost-per-client of providing dental hygiene treatment.
Interview Our Place Society Volunteer Coordinator.
Data analysis of interview results.
Create visual aids based on literature review and interview results.
