Subject: Summary of Research Proposal Submission
Dear Dr. Erika Paterson,
I have just posted my research proposal to the blog under the Commas team forum. Please see below for a link to the post.
My research interest is in implementing separate lanes specifically for small-wheeled vehicles to improve the traffic on various main roads on campus, and creating a safe environment for skaters, pedestrians and car drivers. By conducting primary research through surveys, I will be able to determine the needs of staffs and students on campus regarding road sharing, which will be used to improve our future implementation strategies.
Summary of Research Proposal:
- Introduction and background: the rising popularity of the use of skateboards as a method of transportation on campus
- Statement of problem – Road sharing between pedestrians, cars and skateboards raises riding difficulty and safety concerns
- Proposed solutions – Implement a small-wheeled vehicle specific lane on the main roads on campus
- Scope of questions – Skater and non-skater’s opinions on the implementation and planning of these lanes
- Research methodology – Surveys and secondary research data on construction and planning
- My qualifications – Experiences in conducting research and a skater myself
- Concluding paragraph – A separate lane will improve the safety of students and riding experiences of skaters
I look forward to hearing from you regarding my research proposal.
