BIO

After earning my bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance Specialist) from the University of Toronto in November 2018, I was able to apply the knowledge into practice by working as an Investment Analyst at The Midland Group of Companies. During my two years there, I was heavily involved in analyzing investment and provides recommendations on long only funds, hedge funds, and private equity funds. Nevertheless, during this process, I have found that my true passion lies in building and creating products to solve problems in the finance industry with technology. This is why I ended up in the BCS program (Second Degree in Computer Science) at the University of British Columbia.

One thing I have observed in the Finance industry over the years was that major firms are slow when adapting to new technology. As a result, many audiences, such as retail investors and family offices, are very underserved. Working for a family office has inspired me with the ambition to create a product that produce real-time, customizable, in-depth analysis on investments for these audiences.  I am a firm believer in that technology will bring positive changes and ample opportunities to the society. I have been truly inspired by how technology can reinforce a variety different industries and provide positive impact on them. As someone who have experience in both finance and computer science, I hope to utilize my skills and contribute to the fin-tech world.
